Launch of LARS reservation system at LKVO
As of 1st April 2026, we are launching a new reservation system at our airport – the „Local Area Reservation System “(LARS) designed for booking local flight activities – flight training operations (LFA).
More efficient operational planning
The new software will allow airport users to plan their operations tactically and directly within the system, without the need for e-mail or telephone communication with the airport operator.
Airport capacity and available time slots will be managed by the LKVO airport operator based on predefined criteria, ensuring clear and transparent planning.
Proven system used at regional airports in the Czech Republic
The LARS system is already in use at regional airports (LKKV, LKTB and LKMT) where air navigation services are provided by national ANSP (ŘLP ČR, s. p.). Based on cooperation with ŘLP ČR, the system will now be implemented at LKVO as well.
Testing period and full implementation
A testing period will begin on 1st April 2026, during which the new system will be fully operational and available for use.
Until 16th April 2026, it will still be possible to submit bookings for LFA via e-mail or telephone. After this date, the testing period will conclude, and all bookings will be processed exclusively through the LARS system.
The primary objective of introducing the new reservation system is to simplify and streamline flight training bookings for our clients, increase operational transparency, and reduce administrative workload.
What is LFA
LFA = flight activity related to repetitive landings and take-offs, touch and go landings and low approaches over the RWY.
LARS won’t be used for movements on RWY that don’t match the nature of LFA:
- one aerodrome traffic circuit flight beginning and terminating at LKVO;
- single touch and go at LKVO from cross country flights where the departure and / or arrival airport are other than LKVO; or
- single instrument approach terminated with full stop landing or with low approach (pass) continuing to destination other than LKVO.
