New horizontal road markings and parking rules on the APN WEST apron
Dear customers
We are pleased to announce the completion of new horizontal traffic markings (VDZ) on runway 28/10 and the APRON WEST apron (formerly APN W), which introduce new parking rules and changes to aircraft guidance.
These measures are part of an ongoing process to modernise and ensure high standards of safety and efficiency of air traffic at our airport.
Change of name and parking layout
From 15 May 2025, the following changes relating to the APRON WEST apron will be officially published in the AIP CR:
- Change of apron name – Apron APN W will now be referred to as APRON WEST.
- New aircraft parking markings and rules – A total of four basic parking stands (1-4) and two alternative parking stands (2A and 4A) are marked on this apron to ensure efficient use of space for different types of aircraft.
Details of the new parking stands:
- Parking stands 1–4 are designated for aircraft with code letter A. At parking stand 1, the fuselage length of aircraft is limited to 12 metres.
- Parking stand 2A is an alternative parking stand in the area of parking stands 1 and 2, intended for aircraft with code letter B.
- Parking stand 4A is an alternative parking stand in the area of parking stands 3 and 4, intended for aircraft with code letters B and C. For aircraft with code letter C, the wingspan is limited to a maximum of 30.5 m.
This change allows for more flexible parking and efficient use of space for aircraft of various sizes.
Detailed information:
All details on aircraft positioning, guidance and movement on the APRON WEST apron can be found in the official presentation of the APS/HDL department, which can be viewed here.
This change in parking rules and new signage is intended to optimise airport operations, increase safety and efficiency, and enable better use of apron capacity.
Thank you for your cooperation. We look forward to seeing you.
